Requirements

In order to run Bold Material smoothly on your server, you need to full-fill this requirements listed below:

  • Apache 2.2+ or Microsoft IIS7
  • PHP 5.4+ (PHP 5.5+ Recommended)
  • MySQL 5.1+
  • Joomla 3.4+

Please contact your web hosting service provider to make sure that your server complies with the requirements above.

You should check php upload_max_filesize and post_max_size. The recommended values should be 64Mb or higher. Some hosting limits this value by default, you may need to contact to find more information about this. You can change this via php.ini file or .htaccess file in the root of your website:

php_value post_max_size 64M

php_value upload_max_filesize 64M

These values will ensure that you won't get any error reporting that your upload and post memory limit is too low.

After purchasing template, you can download the template package to install into your site, it's a ZIP file called bold_material.zip

Quick Installation Guide:

1. Bold Material Template Installation

Step 1: Install Bold Material

+ Log into the Administrator Panel

+ Go to Extensions in Extensions Manager > Install

+ Use Upload Package file mode and select the package: bold_material.zip

+ Install template package as typical Joomla extension + Click on Upload and Install button

Step 2: Assign Bold Material as default

Once done, navigate to Extensions > Templates > Administrator templates and set bold_material template style as default one.

2. Extensions Installation

In order to make the template look exactly as the demo page, you need to install recommended extensions: EasySocial v2, EasyBlog v5.1, EasyDiscuss, Komento, ConverseKit. Follow this documentation page for how to install each extension above.

PLEASE NOTE! These are 3rd party commercial extensions, in case that you don't have one of these extensions installed on your site, you have to purchase it from StackIdeas first.

Module Positions in Bold Material template

Template comes with 2 different layout structures: "Dashboard" - built for Home menu item with Masonry layout and "Default" - has default layout for all pages. Click Image to see full size

Favicon

A small image with dimension of 16x16 pixel image in .ico format displays in web browser next to your website's URL. You may use one of graphic software and create your own favicon and simply place it in template directory of your website:

[ROOT]/templates/bold_material (your_default_template)/favicon.ico

Logo Site

+ Access admin panel > Extensions > Templates > select the template style which is assigned to 'Login' menu item

+ Logo: click on 'Select' button and browse to logo image. If not use logo image, logo text will be used.

Create 'Login' menu item

  • Log into admin panel of Joomla site
  • Create a menu under 'Menus' called 'Login'
  • Create a new menu item for 'Login' menu: Login with type of Login Form

Backend Settings:

+ Access admin panel > Extensions > Templates > select the template style which is assigned to 'Login' menu item

+ Logo: click on 'Select' button and browse to logo image. If not use logo image, logo text will be used.

Easysocial Dropdown Menu module:

+ Navigate to admin panel > Extensions > Modules

+ Create a new module type of EasySocial Dropdown Menu

+ Module position: header-right

Homepage - Dashboard Layout

Bold Material template comes with 1 Dashboard page used for Homepage. This layout utilizes Masonry script for dynamic grid layout, in the demo site, it's showing modules from 'dashboard' position.

On the left sidebar, the template shows 2 modules in 'dashboard-sidebar' position:
