Web design is a dynamic industry that involves the constant evolution of popular website interfaces. It is an industry born from creativity and innovation. This is why each year is always different than the last. As web development and marketing techniques continue to improve, each website design company has a greater opportunity to create attractive and functional sites. Under the rapid development of the design wave, the web designers are increasingly concerned about the development of the design trend. The annual web design trends forecast almost become a must-read subject for most of the web designers. Here are 12 web design trend predictions for your reference.

#1 Intelligent Conversational Bots

As we begin blending traditional apps and web pages together, sites will be able to take on the more advanced functionality of apps. As stated above, this will undoubtedly include a push towards using voice search, heuristic bots, and natural language processing. All of this is becoming possible, again, due to the shift towards mobile browsing and the feature rich platform it delivers.

Intelligent Conversational Bots may be implemented in dozens of creative ways. For example, they could be programed into a Q&A page–or as a core on any page–allowing people to verbally ask questions instead of scrolling through a fixed list.

Imagine a website that doesn’t list store hours because you can simply ask anything. You just type in the URL and your virtual helper appears, ready to have a fully-verbal, natural conversation with you.

If you would like to try this intelligent conversion for your landing page, don't forget to use PageBold - the only one landing page builder provide you this smart tool.

#2 Design Clean Layouts That Let Content Shine

There was a time when the web was all about showing itself off. Web pages piled on scrolling effects, animated designs and aggressively “modern” features in an effort to let users know how cool their designers were. As the web has matured and become a daily part of most folks’ lives, we’ve seen a lot of the gimmicky features of yesteryear fade away. Today, the trend is towards simple layouts that let a site’s content come through cleanly and clearly. Bonus points are awarded to designs that use typography well, with clear information hierarchies and an obvious way for users to navigate through web pages. These type of designs also make “mobile-first” design paradigms much easier to implement. And considering that 51.3% of users access the internet through their smartphones, mobile-first is more important than ever.

We can also expect to see an increase in semantic design that puts information clarity and user experience first, reducing the number of hyper-complex or archaic website designs out there today.

#3 GIF’s and Different Animation Make Your Website Eye Catchy

Good animation plays an important role in creating an effective website. An effective website always used a good animation design tools. By using a good animation we can make our website easy to understand and navigate by users. It attracts user’s attention. GIF’s are in the trend which is introduced by Pinterest and nowadays used by facebook and twitter. You may use it to create your website. GIFs explain a workflow to your users. You may use it for marketing through social media, in blog posts, and in your emails. There are many GIF creation tools which may help you to build your website.

#4 Micro-interactions

Facebook has made popular the use of micro-interactions — instead of simply “Liking” a post or comment, you can now choose from several reactions. You can see the increased engagement on your own wall.

Micro-interactions allow the user to interact with the user experience without reloading the page. Historically, the web has been very static. Want to submit a review? You’re going to have to deal with a page reload. This may seem minor, but it actually creates a speedbump. Some users will bounce right off that speedbump, and you’ll lose potential data or conversions. Micro-interactions help flatten speedbumps and give richer interactions, so users are more likely to interact with you.

This design element will allow users to express interest and communicate in real-time, breaking down communication barriers and increasing the connectivity and speed customers have come to expect in an increasingly mobile world.

#5 Material Design

The material design has been developed by Google in recent years and is being steadily rolled out across its applications, including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Drive, and YouTube.

It is a way of designing to create a hierarchy of meaning and importance on the page, drawing the user’s focus to different areas all the while moving and responding to the user’s actions. They’re calling the latter Material Motion. Material design uses geometric shapes to visually enhance their site, create depth, and realism. It’s becoming more and more popular across the rest of the web too, thanks to its ‘living’ status, its flexibility, and its compatibility across all devices.

There’s an ongoing discussion about Material Design and its future.

#6 Bold, Expressive Typography Design Makes Your Text More Impact

To go along with the minimalistic styles of 2018, Typography as a design element will be taking center-stage. Already we’re seeing colorful, playful, and artistic fonts taking the place of images.

For mobile, in particular, this makes a lot of sense. Unlike images, which add weight to a page, scaling size to your typography doesn’t impact performance. Eliminating images and relying on expressive typography creates cleaner lines with more negative space — so logos and calls-to-action really pop on-page.

Gaudy buttons and clickable images are losing fashion. Even hero images are starting to give-way to vibrant, creative text-based designs. And those skinny little headers and menus are blossoming into a trend of wide, bold headers that immediately proclaim the purpose of a page. You may even find the call-to-action loudly announced first thing in a typographic explosion.

#7 Video Becomes King

Go anywhere on social media and you’ll see that video is dominating the internet. Hubspot predicts that by 2018, 79% of all internet traffic will be video. They say a picture paints a thousand words, but a video does that tenfold. Much like with animation, a moving image on a page instantly captures the users attention, drawing them in so brands are able to get across their carefully constructed narrative and message.

Video, although by no means new, is long-established and versatile medium, useful for story-telling, marketing and vlogging alike, and has several advantages over traditional photography. Where static imagery is flat and motionless, video is altogether more dynamic, using sound and movement to appeal to the senses and hold attention for longer.

Video is quickly taking over the internet, and the above reasons are the testament to how successful it is as a means for content delivery.

#8 Innovative Scrolling and Parallax

Scrolling, once reserved for getting from top of a page to the bottom, is being used in more creative capacities to deliver content online. Where designers in the past were concerned about keeping the most important content ‘above the fold’, we’re seeing this old-fashioned notion disappear, as ‘the fold’ is now harder to define, as users are viewing content of screens of all different sizes and resolutions.

Scrolling is a versatile mechanic which (when executed well) can work great with all varieties of content delivery. It works with video based content, where large full screen videos play and pause as the user scrolls, as well as static content, which can animate, move, or change depending on the users input.

#9 Internet of Things Connectivity

Just like APIs were a big hit several years ago, connecting web services to the Internet of Things (IoT) has been a big trend of 2017 and will continue into 2018. IoT devices are Internet-connected objects can range from something as complicated as a tidal turbine to something as simple as a tea kettle. They use sensor arrays and server-side processing to receive and act on data in their immediate environment. APIs are currently in the works that allow web developers to connect to and communicate with IoT devices, and that degree of interconnectivity is likely to increase.

Of course, some concerns about IoT security have been raised, so developers may be tasks to help protect their users’ data from IoT-based breeches as well. It’s a double-edged sword, with opportunities for both developers and hackers, unfortunately.

#10 Facebook as a Destination

While one could argue this is a digital marketing trend rather than a web design one, the fact is Facebook is becoming equally valuable, if not more valuable, for offering all the content generally found on a business’ website. This shift cannot be ignored.

Facebook is fighting to become a destination for content, offering a blog platform, reviews, live chat with clients, and even live streaming. In many cases, potential clients may discover a Facebook page before your business website and never even click-through — they’ll simply call you or message you and become an immediate hot lead.

In 2018 you’ll find building your business’ experience on Facebook will become much more important, than simply using Facebook to drive people to the website. And our digital marketing professionals and social media experts can definitely help your business through that transition.

#11 Increased Use of Hand-drawn Elements

Perhaps a different type of web design trend is the increased use of hand drawn elements. These elements include fonts, icons, graphics, buttons and other elements that bring a nice unique touch to websites.

Websites have never been a medium that most would associate with drawing out, but the introduction and the subsequent takeoff of these hand drawn elements have been a nice change from using standard design elements.

#12 Less Flat Designs, Return of Gradients

Have you noticed that websites all look the same these days? If so, you have the ‘flat design’ craze of the last few years to thank for that. Thankfully, Google’s material design last year shows an appeal for more depth of view via subtle shadows. Also, gradient colors are also resurfacing this year. Both of these are attempts to combat how flat design has homogenized website design.

Conclusion

In summary, website design trends come and go. Some get adopted long-term while others are short-lived. Because of this, it’s important not to jump on every trend. Choose the designs that make the most sense for your website’s needs. For the other trends, try them out and if they don’t make sense, forget about them. The key is to strike a balance between having a site that looks unique but also looks similar to the latest and greatest going on in the web.

Well I must say that the trends have changed since then but some of the designs are still going strong. You can find some cool affiliate csm designs for free. All you have to do is make a free account there which required only your email account not your credit card info. You don't need to put in many months doing instructional exercise after instructional exercise. Try not to stall out in the coding instructional exercise trench. When you have the basics down, you can learn as you build. Something else I discovered helpful when beginning is to work with formats. Presently don't abhor on me just yet — hear me out! Just half a month after I initially opened a code proofreader, I could dispatch an expert looking site for my brother by marriage business. This site depended on a $12 layout, yet there are bounty out there that you can get for free. I know a few people will raise eyebrows at what I just said. In any case, as a tenderfoot, I could work with code that was at that point all around organized and arranged. Thanks for compiling such good designs for us
